Hey y'all...
First thing... we got our first shout out in the Journal News thanks to Lori Sachare! Check out Pete Kramer's blog at http://theater.lohudblogs.com/2007/09/24/“urinetown”-at-greeley/. Hopefully, he will be out to take pictures and write another story closer to show time.
More importantly, however, Marco Jo and I were very impressed with your rehearsal etiquette this weekend. You all acted very professional, and we were able to get a lot of work done. So...thank you!
However, we did not get as much done as we would have liked. Thus, make sure you check the schedule online to see if we have updated anything.
We'll see you all on Mon. for another full cast rehearsal! Good work so far :o)

I'm sad...
No one leaves me comments :o(
Also, it seems like y'all are getting sick as of late. Please take care of yourselves! You are no good to me sick. Here are some tips to stay healthy from me to you:
1. Carry a water bottle with you all day, and constantly drink from it. When it is empty, refill it at one of our convenient bubblers and repeat. Don't share your water bottle with anyone!
2. Take at least 500mg of Vitamin C a day. Emergen-C packets or Airborne have a ton of Vitamin C and go well with your bottle of water.
3. Stop canoodling with each other.
Stay healthy... like I said, you are no good to me sick!
Peace.

Make up rehearsals and such...
Hey y'all...
Make sure that you check the rehearsal schedule if you have not done so recently. FYI - I want to block the scene we didn't do last Friday (Act I/ii,) and I want to block "Look at the Sky" on Mon. Both days are Full Cast rehearsals, so I expect everyone to be there anyway.
Also... I'm getting slightly concerned about ad and ticket sales. Besides two or three cast members, we have not seen an ads! Don't wait until the last minute! Some businesses will take more than one trip, so give yourself enough time. Both A.J. and I will talk more about this with y'all tomorrow.
I have been happy with rehearsals so far. The kids I have worked with have been very fun and funny! Keep up the good work, and I'll see y'all tomorrow.
Peace.

The beginnings of rehearsals...
Hey y'all...
Things have been going well so far. I look forward to hearing all of you sing at this afternoon's rehearsal!
If you need to leave rehearsal early today, or can not come at all due to the Jewish holiday, please try to remind me during the day. We have all of your conflicts written down, but a quick reminder always helps me.
Other things to remember:
1. Don't wait until the last minute to solicite businesses for ads! The quicker they come in, the easier it is for Ryan and Evan to get the program together, the less worrying I have to do, and the sooner you can focus on your work on-stage. Remember, there is a fantabulous prize for the team that raises the most money! Be that team.
2. For those of you without scripts: they will be given out this afternoon. Please don't leave them laying around, and remember to bring them to every rehearsal you are scheduled for (along with a pencil!)
3. Please check the rehearsal schedule on a regular basis. If I need to reschedule anything, I will do so on the schedule on the website. There is now a link on the main page so it will be easier to get to!
Lastly, thank you to A.J., Marge (A.J.'s mom,) and Aleah for organizing the ad campaign. I truly appreciate all your hard work. Also, thanks to Ryan, Emily, Maile, and all the kids that helped label and organize the mass mailing. I know it is tedious, but it really does let the Greeley community know what we are up to. Thanks!
Looking forward to more excellent rehearsals.
Peace.

First Rehearsal...
Hey y'all...
Great read of Act I today! If you couldn't hear me (which I find impossible,) I found y'all very funny. That means I laughed... out loud... a lot. I appreciate everything you bring to the table as actors/artists, and it only gives me that much more material to work with. I think I have some funny ideas... I hope y'all eventually agree.
For those of you that might feel that you sat around today... Please know that what exists on the page is simply a blueprint. What you each contribute to the show (whether it be acting, dancing, singing, or a combination,) makes the show complete. Even though you might not have any lines, that is not what's important. It is what you bring to the table as an actor and artist that will make your role memorable, and part of the overall fabric of the show.
To the returning members of the company: I know that the upperclassmen will take the newbies under their wings. So... Upperclassmen, please make the new members of our company feel welcome and include them in your activities. You were there once, ya know? Your experiences over the past 1, 2, or 3 years can be helpful to our first time Musical members.
To the new members of the company: The company is happy to have you! As long as you be yourselves, y'all will fit in just fine! If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to ask me, Ryan, Emily, or any Upperclassman for advice. I'm sure any of us would be more than happy to help.
I look forward to seeing all of you again tomorrow for Act II. See you then!
Peace.
P.S. As always, If you want to comment on the show or today's rehearsal, feel free to click on "comment" and leave your thoughts!

Congratulations to the Cast of Urinetown!
If you are reading this entry, you have most likely seen the recently posted cast list for Urinetown.
Thanks to everyone who auditioned! With a cast of 40 talented people, it was very hard casting all of you! Most of you could have played numerous roles, and you did not make our decision making any easier.
So... congratulations to all, and I look forward to seeing all of you at the first read through on Monday, September 17th. For Monday, plan on going through Act I, playing some games, as well as going over the contract and the schedule for September. If you can not make it on Mon., or feel like you can no longer do the show, please shoot me an email or come talk to me on Mon.
Also, if you want to discuss your audition or the casting process, feel free to stop by my office on Mon. If I'm not teaching class, that is where I will be.
If you didn't get the part you were hoping for....listen, it is absolutely natural and normal to feel disappointed. Unfortunately, this is a reality of the theatre. I you want to come talk about it, my door is always open and I'll try my best to explain my rationale and, hopefully, help you improve for next time.
To repeat myself... I am thrilled with this cast and I look forward to leading you to a funny and biting production in November. We have lots of work to do, so get some rest this weekend. We begin in 5 days!
P.S. Thank you to Ms. Callan, Ms. Kuan, Ryan, and Emily for all your help with auditions and callbacks. Y'all are the bomb.
Peace. (Feel free to click on "Comment" and leave me a message regarding audtions/callbacks/casting/whatever! Believe it or not, I do listen to what you have to say :o)
